Board game reviews, strategy tips & session reports
I thought I should update my list of the Top Ten Family Board Games since I have been introduced to many new games. For me, a family board game is easy to learn, fairly quick to play and accessible to a variety of ages.
10. Seven Dragons – a bit random, chaotic and fun, has rules for 3-6 year olds
9. Wits and Wagers Family – fun trivia for all
8. Quicksand – I have played this with a 6 year old. Simple, fun, quick and easy
7. Zooloretto – Good game for kids with enough strategy for parents to enjoy too
6. Castle Panic – fun co-op with tense moments as monsters trash your towers
5. 10 Days in Africa – learn some geography and have fun doing it
4. For Sale – light card game with just enough strategy to keep everyone happy
3. Word on the Street – must be able to spell but you’ll have fun with the tug-of-war word game
2. Ticket to Ride – can be played as fun or cutthroat as your family likes
1. Say Anything Family – this game is more fun if you know the people you are playing with. Well you should know your family, if not this fun party game might help you get to know them better.
Honorable Mentions:
Blokus 3D, Forbidden Island, Liar’s Dice, Defenders of the Realm, Drakon, Qwirkle, The Adventurers, Scotland Yard
Agree? Disagree? That is what the comments are for!
I got Word on the Street late last year and it became my favorite word game after one play!
Wits and Wagers is the only trivia game I actually enjoy.
You gonna try out Treasure Trove!!
Ok I’ll have to look into it. Thanks for the feedback.
