Board game reviews, strategy tips & session reports
Wow another year in the books. Time flies when you are having fun and this year was full of fun board games. Here is a list of the best board games I played for the first time in 2015. Not all were published in 2015 but it is when I first played them. Full reviews can be read by clicking the game’s name (if I reviewed the game).
10. Deus – This tableau building board game is fun for newer gamers and old veterans alike.
9. Mythotopia – Mix deck-bulding and area control and get this gem from Martin Wallace.
8. Spyfall – This game of social deduction is fun. But it might go stale if you find your group repeatedly asking the same questions.
7. Arcadia Quest – This miniatures skirmish game shines when you play the campaign mode. Level your guys and gain powerful items to beat your opponents’ adventurers.
6. Alchemists – This deduction game mixes resource management and worker placement. Be aware it requires a free app or a moderator.
5. The Undercity – A fun, cooperative, dungeon crawling adventure game with a seven scenario campaign for two to four players.
4. Roll for the Galaxy – A fun dice rolling implementation of the classic Race for the Galaxy that plays quick.
3. Isle of Skye – This tile-laying game has you selling and buying tiles to place in your land to meet goals that change from round to round.
2. Codenames – This is the best party game I have played in a while. Your team must deduce which cards belong to them with one word clues. Tense and fun.
1. VS System 2PCG – A great game of deck construction and card battle featuring Marvel super heroes. The new streamlined rules and fact it is not collectible make it fun and easy to pick up and play.
