Rapid Engagement is a two-player starter set for High Command. It has one pre-constructed deck from the Warmachine and Hordes sets.
If you have not played High Command before, you can read my overview of the rules and review here. Rapid Engagement plays the exact same way but does not allow for deck construction or more than two players.
The set includes a Khador deck and a Circle Orboros. They are made up of cards from several previously released expansion packs. Both decks include three warcasters/warlocks and war engines.
The Winds of War deck mimics the one from the Faith and Fortune base set. The included locations are similar to those in Faith and Fortune but are not exact matches.
Rapid Engagement is a two-player starter set for High Command. It contains no new unit cards and has pre-constructed decks.
The components are the same as those from the rest of the series. The art is well done and the cards are durable. The rules are reduced with less fluff and examples, but still very easy to follow.
If you are looking to try out High Command, Rapid Engagement is a great way to do it. Veterans can probably ignore the set since it has no new cards. But if you are new to the game or you play Warmachine but would like to give Hordes a try (or vice versa), pick this up.
