Board game reviews, strategy tips & session reports
After dispatching of the goblins the party continues down the hall. Auidar figures he can sneak ahead to scout and turns into his rat form. Passing a few corridors off the main passage he continues down the main hall and comes to a large lit room. He sees six goblins lifting a large statue and one seems to be directing them. As he begins to sneak away the goblin directing things, Mron, turns toward him and casts a spell. The goblins hoisting the statue drop it and begin to throw javelins at Auidar as he runs away.
Down the hall some of the party members hear the disturbance and begin charging toward the fight. Auidar casts Fearie Fire on the closely grouped goblins and hits four of them. The goblins meanwhile volley more javelins at him. He is hit by a couple and is bloodied. Render charges into the fight while Tony uses his Thunderburst Bow on the attacking goblins, hitting them all. Orsik meets up with Auidar and heals him. While Donnar steps up to Mron who has been flanked by a fellow goblin.
Mron has pulled out his mace and strikes Donaar him. Render kills one of the goblins and charges at Mron. The three continue to battle with Mron attacking Donaar while being attacked by both Donaar and Render.
Auidar begins to feel better and pounces on a goblin. Tony as usual stays back and provides ranged support. Auidar is hit again and retreats back toward Tony. Two goblins pursue and one charges Tony. Tony evades the hit, steps back and drops the goblin quickly.
Soon only Mron and one goblin remain. The heroes focus most of their attacks on Mron as the other goblin seems to be a small threat. Donaar breathes and hits both opponents. It is then that Render slashes at Mron cutting him deeply as he falls at last. Render instantly charges the last goblin hitting him too. Auidar casts chill wind and hits as Render lobes the last goblins head off.
The party takes a short rest as they search the bodies.
DM Notes:
I messed up all the maps up to this point…it was my fault though. The legend in the adventure says 1 square equals 10 feet and NOT 5 feet which I am used to. Mron was supposed to flee, but had him fight it out. This was a fun encounter and definitely the most challenging for the PCs yet.
