Dungeon Crawler has five delve packs. Each pack is themed after a different setting in Ara. New heroes and quests accompany each pack and match the overall theme.
If you have not played Dungeon Crawler and want to know the basics of the game, read my review here. This review is going to mostly cover the things added in the delve packs.
The five delve packs for Dungeon Crawler are: Keldorna, Stonehold, Outlands, Sylvan Woods and Barren Mountains.
All the new heroes and quests help you create the dungeon and crawler decks you’d like. Since each pack adds new cards and additional cards from the base set, you can play standard games. Standard games consist of 80 card decks and 5 encounter points. The additional cards allow you to try out the cooperative and competitive modes.
Most of the heroes from the delve packs have more balanced stats than those in the base set. They aren’t specialists but either have icons in three categories or 5 health and icons in two categories. These heroes allow you to create a well-rounded party that can continue to help you use all your cards even if you lose a hero.
Dungeon Crawler is a good game. Adding the delve packs makes it even better. The possibilities and options that are available just by buying these decks are worth it.
All the new cards and heroes combined with being able to play cooperatively and competitively make these worth the cost. The fact that these cards allow you to play through the campaigns on the Dungeon Crawler website make these a great value.
You can also have more options for your Crawler deck. You can fine tune your deck to the challenges in the Dungeon deck you are facing.
Dungeon Crawler continues to expand too. Right now there is a kickstarter campaign for another expansion the Mines of Khurgan. The Mines of Khurgan is an 82 card expansion pack with 34 different cards and a card stock token punch card for Dungeon Crawler.
If you like Dungeon Crawler you should add at least a couple of the Unbound Delve packs. They will expand your game and possibilities immensely. You also might want to check out the kickstarter campaign to expand your game even more.
