Once the adventurers are able to open the door they see the silhouette in the room before them. They also notice piles of treasure. This must be the vault.
The figure rushes the party as a burst of rage and anger washes over them. Most of the group is overtaken by the emotions and strike out at each other and Clay slams Meldrick with his hammer.
Otiril charges the figure and misses. Meldrick flanks what appears to be a wight and stabs him with his long sword. Aram summons a water elemental and hits the wight. It howls and lashes out at Arannis.
Otiril takes the opening and slices deep into the wight. Meldrick and Clay join in and pummel the fowl undead. Aram summons an elemental and it adds to the wight’s punishment.
The wight regains its position and dominates Arannis. He attacks Otiril but misses. The heroes continue to gang up in the wight. They overwhelm him and finally Meldrick is able to cut him down.
As the heroes begin to look at the treasure there is a noise from nearby. The wight rises and again blasts the heroes with a blast of raw anger. Otiril hits Meldrick with his great axe.
Otiril regains his mind and hits the wight. Meldrick recovers and charges at the wight goring him. Clay rushes in and finishes the wight off. This time for good.
DM Notes:
Darom Madar’s dominate power is ranged and can only be used once bloodied. Being so outnumbered made getting to use it is tough for the wight.
